“…the righteous gives and does not hold back.” Proverbs 21:26
As a religious broadcaster for over forty years, the Total Living Network has always been involved in civic discussion and engagement when it comes to policy affecting our calling. With your help, we’ve been able to shine the light on the positive impact that faith-based content has on our communities, our nation and the world. From the beginning, I’ve been active in the National Religious Broadcasters Association, serving on the Board of Directors and as President. The NRB is a nonpartisan, international association of Christian communicators whose mission is “to advance biblical truth, promote media excellence and defend free speech.” Now both TLI President Debra Fraser and COO Greg Bogdan are actively supporting that mission on behalf of the Total Living Network, holding leadership roles within that important association. We thought you’d like to know that TLN is partnering with the larger faith community to preserve Christian freedoms, and how our involvement keeps us current on those issues as well as how they’re being challenged in surprising ways.
And yet, I’m deeply concerned that you and I are losing the very freedoms we’ve always held dear as Christians and as Americans. You’ve probably heard the reports of anti-Christian censorship and are as troubled as I am. The First Amendment is clear on matters of freedom of religion and freedom of speech, but those freedoms are under attack – even in the halls of government where anti-Christian sentiment is being raised by elected officials questioning whether a devout Christian is qualified to hold public office.*
The censorship is becoming wider-spread; to stand for biblical truth in matters of marriage and gender is considered “hate speech” with growing efforts to repress or even criminalize it. And it’s hard to believe the reports of businesses being forced to violate their basic Christian beliefs or face bankruptcy or even jail. Many news media outlets have become “maximizers of promise” for non-biased reporting and free speech for all, but are “minimizers in fulfillment.” A leading American nationally syndicated radio talk show host and writer has reported that YouTube has restricted over 80 of his videos because they represent conservative values.** The March for Life last month attracted tens of thousands – if not hundreds of thousands – of Americans celebrating life, especially that of the unborn – yet in the past six years, this momentous event has attracted less than 30 minutes of total coverage from the broadcast network news shows on ABC, CBS and NBC, versus coverage of other events like the Women’s March.***
TLNWest is committed to broadcasting shows and programs true to Christian values and biblical truth. And we’re committed to continue our historic efforts to protect our right, and the rights of other American businesses and organizations to the freedoms of religion and speech we’ve enjoyed since our country was founded. While it is a greater challenge than ever, it’s more important than ever that we use every moment possible to share Christ. I’m grateful that, with your help, we still stand among the lighthouses of the Gospel.
As I’ve so often said, it’s not a task we can achieve on our own. Your support has been the bedrock upon which we proclaim God’s love and truth on television and the internet, and remain active in the marketplace defending religious freedoms. Your prayers and generous donations have been the foundation on which our ministry has stood all these years. Without you, we won’t be able to continue to be that spiritual light in a deepening darkness.
Thank you for your faithful support and for being a part of the TLN family.
“Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6

A Note from our President – From My Heart to Yours
Why Are You Here?
Soul-searching began moments after that question was posed by a businessman and longtime friend of this ministry during a meeting about TLNWest’s need for funding in 2019. “Because I was called,” was my immediate thought. I was called to this ministry in 1998 and likewise, the Lord prepared my heart to accept the presidency of the Total Living Network months before I was asked to serve in that capacity. I know that I am with TLNWest because God called me.
Then, I thought of you. I was called, along with our dedicated team, to maintain a Christian presence through media when people need Christ most. Specific instances came to mind of praying with and for people who are out of work, ill, who have lost family members, or who were going through a painful divorce. I thought of calls related to children who have broken the hearts of their parents and parents who have broken the hearts of their children. I’ve prayed with those facing surgery and others who have lost contact with loved ones. I’ve happened to be at hospitals when TLNWest viewers needed prayer and I was able to participate. More times than I really care to think about, I’ve prayed with moms awaiting prison sentences for their sons and others trying to pull their children out of drug and alcohol addictions. TLNWest stands in the gap with people battling fear, depression, and suicide. Knowing that God is the answer to each one of these circumstances is also why I am here.
God is closer than a brother. He stands at the door and knocks and He never leaves us. Christ gave His all for healing, deliverance, and grace we do not deserve.
But the myriad of voices telling us our Christ is not real grow louder. The voices that say God won’t supply our needs, voices that wish to divide our nation, voices that challenge biblical truth seem bent on covering up the one message that heals. The world would try to confuse and divide the body of Christ even as the Christian perspective is being challenged on media platforms such as YouTube and Twitter. Many ministries have had valuable content removed while, in reality, the content offers answers to life’s challenges.
The truth of the Gospel needs to be available to reach people of all ages and all walks of life through whatever means and doors God opens for us. TLNWest will not give up on sharing Christ to a world that increasingly needs Him. The message of hope through television, the internet and live streaming on electronic devices penetrates the walls of homes and into hearts. Over 2 million minutes of Total Living Network content was consumed in 2018 solely through IP streaming and computer-related viewing. Imagine the effectiveness of ministry through television, cable and other outlets.
Why Are You Here? My prayer is that you feel the call to communicate Christ. Pray earnestly – the get-down-on-your-knees kind of prayer for TLNWest to be effective in ministry through the portals God allows. Pray for the resources we need to continue and even expand. Consider financially supporting TLNWest monthly for the next 12 months. Such a commitment allows us to budget effectively. Finally, pray over your donation that the Lord will bless it, multiply it, and use it for His purposes; and, that He will open the doors of heaven and pour out the resources and blessings necessary to maintain a vital Christian voice in this era.
