Because you, and others like you, faithfully stand together with us in prayer and generous support, TLNWest was there when Stacey Padrick Thompson needed us the most.
Stacey’s personal struggle with systematic lupus had been a painful challenge for her. But what was even more painful was Stacey and her husband’s difficulty having a child. As much as they wanted a child of their own, it just wasn’t happening. They had tried for years to become parents but her illness made it even more difficult. As a young woman, her faith helped her accept and work through her illness, but her desire to have a child lay heavy on her heart.
There are times when our faith becomes weak and we need someone to speak a word of faith into our hearts and minds. And often that word can be a catalyst to change our circumstances. That was the case with Stacey. All the years of trying, and waiting, had tested her faith. It was a conversation with a member of the TLN team that changed Stacey’s circumstances. She said that one of TLN’s staff “spoke hope and faith into my life during our long attempt to get pregnant.”
Stacey & daughter Caitlin-Grace
With renewed hope, Stacey’s faith was strengthened and God honored that faith with a daughter, Caitlin-Grace. That was 13 years ago. Today Caitlin-Grace is in middle school and is all that Stacey and Eric could have imagined in a daughter. She plays volleyball, basketball and swims. She loves to act and sing and especially enjoys worship music.
As Stacey and her family have faced various challenges including the management of Stacey’s auto immune deficiencies, and all that comes with raising a healthy young person, they are reminded of the words shared by a member of TLN staff over a decade ago — to speak in faith and not in fear about her future… to pray and claim all God’s good plans for her in His Kingdom. On days when fear still tries to discourage her regarding her own health, those words still ring true. Stacey knows that God has a plan. She says “The Total Living Network showed me the power of prayer and faith with thanksgiving for the things we’ve prayed for— even before we see them answered. I thank God for your ministry and the prayers and faith of all who serve TLN, past and present!”
Being a team member at TLN is more than just a job. We live and believe all that we share with you and all our viewers worldwide. We are passionate about our mission.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to be a part of TLN for so many years, and I’m honored to serve with such a committed group of people. I’m also thankful for you because without you we wouldn’t have been able to be there for Stacey or for all the other thousands whose lives have been blessed spiritually because of TLNWest. You make a difference.
Your generosity doesn’t only affect this moment in time – it goes on and on and on. Your influence extends beyond this moment – we are influencers together.
This month as we take a closer look at all the things we’re thankful for, we can’t help but stop and give thanks for you. Because of supporters like you, a woman named Stacey Padrick Thompson was encouraged by the Total Living Network over 12 years ago during a difficult time in her life. And she continues to feel that encouragement simply because our ministry was there when she needed restored faith at her moment of need.
THANK YOU for making it possible for TLN to be there on days when fear tries to gain a foothold as it did on Stacey all those years ago.
For your “above and beyond” gift of $25 or more, we’d like to send you Stacey’s book, Living in Mystery: Finding God in the Midst of Unanswered Questions. In it, she gives a deeply personal look at how limitations, love, brokenness, hope and other question marks in life can lead to spiritual growth. Stacey shows how finding the answers is less important than rightly seeking God. And in this month of Thanksgiving, a portion of your donation will go to the Marin Center for Independent Living. Stacey says, “What was most helpful to me early on when I could not work, and was struggling to make ends meet, was the Marin Center for Independent Living which helps people with disabilities or physical needs get back on their feet.”
Thank you for joining us as we shine light into viewers’ darkest moments and together influence the world for the Giver of that Light.
A Note From Our President – From My Heart to Yours
Like Stacey, are you trusting God to come through for you?
Does it seem outside the realm of possibility?
Stacey’s story reminded me of my own daughter’s illness when Kristen was two years old. For months she would remain undiagnosed as Jack and I held her and prayed for her. A prayer team prayed for Kristen regularly. As time went on it was more difficult to trust, but we held on through prayer and faith. Kristen would eventually be diagnosed and in God’s timing, the symptoms were gone! That’s why I take seriously the impact we have as influencers for Christ. Together, we help inspire people like Stacey and often ourselves to greater faith and answered prayer – even those outside the realm of human possibility.
Thirteen years later, another member of the TLN team has been praying for a little boy named Toby whom doctors can’t diagnose and whose mother is frantic with worry. As this staff member along with the TLN prayer team walk alongside this family in prayer, we’ve seen young Toby’s health improving and his mother witnessing God at work.
We really do care about each and every one of you. Our ministry team takes every struggle seriously. Each need receives prayer and any missed calls receive personal attention and follow up.
This month as you take time to thank God for the blessings He’s given you, think about others around you. Some are in need of a blessing too and an opportunity to know the abundance of joy found only in Christ. TLN and you are working together 24/7 this Thanksgiving season to share Christ to those seeking Him and to those reaching for that which seems impossible. Nothing is impossible with God! As you support TLN, you are supporting the entire ministry: community outreach and the creation of Christian programs that are viewed locally and across the globe. You are supporting TLN’s CareForce, intercessory prayer team, ministries that share the vision with us and more. You make it possible for Stacey to find support all these years later and the opportunity for her daughter to grow through the ministry of TLN as well. In fact, your support influences generations.
Thank you for your support of TLN whether you began this month or 40 years ago. You are an influencer for Christ by standing with us and making a difference in the lives of others.
What are you thankful for? Share it with us and we’ll rejoice with you. And at this beautiful time of the year, share with us the miracle you’re trusting God for and we’ll bring it to the Lord with you. Me? I’m thankful for friends like you. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
