Total Living Network to air three NEW episodes of THE BREAKING POINT
Chicago – September 16, 2020 – Total Living Network to air three NEW episodes of THE BREAKING POINT
Anger over racial justice issues, the role of the police and the reactions of divergent groups is causing strife and division the United States hasn’t seen since the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. ushered in the Civil Rights Movement. But his movement was rooted in the participation of the church, and built on the principle of non-violence. In TLNWest’sthe Breaking Point, host Jerry Rose tackles the difficult racial issues our country is facing with thought leaders who bring a diverse range of perspectives. Three new, timely episodes will air on TLN in September:
On Thursday, September 17 at 8pm, Rev. Alvin C. Bibbs is the Breaking Point featured guest. In this episode, Rev. Bibbs describes our current “racial pandemic,” explains the difference between the Black Lives Matter organization and the BLM protests, gives his thoughts on the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, WI and discusses the role of the church in righting the wrongs of the past. Rev. Bibbs is the President/CEO of the Justice Journey Alliance and National Director for the Beyond Words: Count Us In movement, a national initiative to call upon clergy to repent of their indifference to systemic racial injustice and to commit to anti-racism activity in order to achieve racial justice in America. This episode re-airs on Saturday, September 19 at 7pm.
On Thursday, September 24 at 8pm, Dr. Eric Wallace is the Breaking Point featured guest. Dr. Wallace is also the host of the Kingdoms in Konflict series debuting September 13 at 9:30pm on TLN. Dr. Wallace was the first African-American to earn a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Union Presbyterian Seminary. He likes to challenge the status quo. In 2008 he began publishing Freedom’s Journal Magazine, an online political magazine aimed at encouraging African-Americans to cling to their natural conservative principles. In the 9/24 episode of the Breaking Point, Dr. Wallace discusses his concerns over the BLM organization and he talks about recent incidents of police violence and race from his unique vantage point as a former police officer. This episode re-airs on Saturday, September 26 at 7pm.
On Thursday, Oct. 1 at 8pm, Roy Patterson is the Breaking Point featured guest. Patterson is a preacher who lectures on the issue of racial reconciliation and who has a passion to see the body of Christ unite. He is also the Community Relations Director for Moody Bible Institute and the host for three nationally syndicated programs. On the 10/1 episode of the Breaking Point, Roy will discuss race, community and the role of the church. This episode re-airs on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7pm.
